But first, let’s talk about what you’re stepping into.
Lynked: Banner of the Spark is a post-apocalyptic action RPG where nature and machinery intertwine. You’ll battle rogue AI enemies, rebuild a community in your town, and uncover long-lost secrets. Every fight propels your journey forward, every structure you create strengthens your path, and every mystery you unravel brings you one step closer to restoring a future worth fighting for.
Now that you know the stakes, here’s how you can get started!
1. Explore your town, jump into main story missions, and start collecting resources.
Start gathering resources early! There are a few ways you can do this!
You can explore your town immediately after completing the tutorial. Smack and grapple rocks, trees, and dig sites to collect resources you can later use to craft valuable items.
You can jump into main story missions to collect drops from enemy Combots. Early story missions focus on rescuing powerful Unibot allies, each of whom unlock features and systems key to pushing deeper into dangerous Combot territory.
Whether you’re in town or on a mission, there are always valuable materials to find that you’ll use to upgrade your weapons, customize your town, and power up your character.
2. Visit the Sparkhold and Unlock Special Spark Powers.
As a reward for completing combat missions, you’ll start earning Soul Sparks—one of the most valuable resources in the game.
Visit the Sparkhold in town to spend Soul Sparks to unlock and upgrade special powers like the Ground Slam AOE and First Aid team heal, helping you turn the tide against the Combots.
Soul Sparks can also be used to upgrade your character’s stats in town and combat, from increasing starting health and revives to speeding up your resource gathering tools.
And remember to visit the Sparkhold after rescuing new bots, you never know who might show up offering new abilities and upgrades.
3. Rescue Smithy and start forging weapons.
Rescue Smithy in the first story mission to bring weapon forging to your town, giving you the ability to craft every weapon in the game. As you make your way through his storyline, you’ll unlock weapon mod and customization options, which will add even more ways to strategize against the Combots.
4. Rescue Chip, unlock the Wyre, and start catching Gillibots and Bitibots.
When you rescue Chip in the second story mission (alongside Mason– more on him later), you’ll be unlocking the ability to upgrade the Wyre. As the cornerstone weapon of the game, you’ll use the Wyre to push, pull, and throw around your enemies. It will also come in handy around town as you’re collecting Bitibots and Gillibots.
These surprisingly cute (yet unsurprisingly mischievous) Bitibots will be hiding all around town, so keep your eyes peeled for a wiggling stone or a little bot peeking out between the leaves a tree.
Use the Wyre on their hiding places to shake them free, and quickly chase and catch them before they scurry away! You’ll see Gillibots swimming in the waters around town. Cast your Wyre and time a few strategic pulls to reel them in.
Chip will help you enhance your Wyre using Friendchips, a resource you can earn by rescuing and befriending Unibot residents.
5. Recruit Battle Companions and adapt your fighting style.
Throughout your time in town and in missions, you’ll meet unique Unibots who can join you in battle. These Battle Companions have distinct fighting styles and abilities, allowing you to customize your team and approaches for different missions.
You can rank up your favorite Battle Companions by taking them with you on missions and feeding them meals you cook when you see them around town.
6. Farm, cook, and upgrade your Battle Companions.
Cooking is essential for leveling up your Battle Companions, so make sure to visit Chef Brot’s kitchen to prepare meals that boost their stats and strengthen your bond with them. Complete favors for your Battle Companions to learn their favorite meals to rank them up even faster!
You’ll need ingredients to whip up these delicious dishes, so you’ll need to fish for Gillibots and grow crops on your very own farm. Speaking of growth, that leads to the next Unibot you’ve got to have in your town!
7.Collect Gillibots, Bitibots, and Unlock Ivy.
Rescue Ivy and complete her quests to unlock new seed varieties and ingredients that you can grow and use in cooking. Ivy will teach you how to build your own farm and grow the seeds you find around town. The crops you grow can be used for cooking and crafting.
Ivy can also unlock new types of flowers in exchange Bitibots that can be planted around town and used in creating dyes to personalize your gear. Now that you have access to all the resources you need, it’s time to get customizing your character and town!
8. Rescue Tailor and customize your character and gear.
Complete Taylor’s rescue mission to unlock the ability to craft new outfits and customization options. You can use the dyes you’ll make from flowers to recolor your fits. Bitibots can be used to create backpacks that add an extra layer to your customization.
However you choose to express yourself, Taylor’s got you covered!
9. Bring Mason home to build and expand your town!
Finally, you might remember rescuing Mason alongside Chip.
Mason allows you to construct buildings and decorate your personal player home. Use materials you gather to craft furniture and decorations and design your town to your heart’s content.
With Mason’s help, you can shape your town into a unique, thriving hub, making it truly your own!
10. Visit Nickles shop frequently for rotating items.
Expanding Nickel's shop unlocks more item selections, with the final tiers including the Gallery and Daily Freebies. The Gallery displays and sells paintings made by Unibots, which can be purchased and used as home decor. Daily Freebies offers occasional free items that can be collected by visiting her shop.
